Jan Mojsa is a UKCP registered Transpersonal Psychotherapist. Her psychotherapy training was at the Centre for Transpersonal Psychology in London which draws on the Analytical Psychology of CG Jung and Buddhist philosophy. Why seek therapeutic help?: Therapeutic help is about being given, and taking, a space to explore problems or difficulties. Some of our problems can be traced to a history of childhood difficulties; others through the challenge of life transitions such as career moves, children leaving home and straightforward unexpected changes. As human beings we are also part of a bigger whole. Events happening in the world impact on how we understand and make meaning out of life. People seek therapy for a wide variety of reasons including: anxiety Transpersonal psychotherapy is both an approach as well as a psychological theory. Conventionally, psychotherapy is a reflective dialogue between therapist and patient exploring past patterns that hold us in a stuck place. The therapeutic process aims to open us to more meaningful living and relationships. The quality of the therapeutic relationship is crucial, for just as our wounding occurred in relationship so healing can occur in relationship too. Beyond the healing of wounds, a transpersonal psychotherapist holds that psychological development continues and our ability to stay open and enquire contemplatively with our experiences allows a deeper investigation into the nature of ourselves. This is familiar with contemplative traditions (for example in meditation) where this direct experiencing leads to an expression of insight and compassion. As well as individual work Jan also works with couples (lesbian, gay and heterosexual). Rumi says ‘Between the place of right doing and wrong doing there is a field. I’ll meet you there.’ The therapeutic work with partners is about attempting to nurture this space. Jan has practices in Bath and Wiltshire. To contact her in the first instance click here.
