This intensive 2-day course enables participants to understand their role
as trainer and confidently plan and deliver training sessions. It is especially
suitable for those who are new to the training, or mentoring, role. More
experienced trainers may find it useful as an opportunity to reflect on
their current working style, to experiment and receive constructive feedback.
The course will have a maximum of 6 participants. It has an experiential
element and group members are invited to prepare a lesson for presentation
to the group. This is video-taped and allows each individual to both self-evaluate
and receive feedback from peers and facilitator. Each participant will
receive a copy of the group's individual presentations for further reflective
analysis.
The two days are run one week apart. This is to create space for reflection
on learning and give time for lesson preparation
At the end of this course, participants will:
be able to plan and deliver a training session
be able to impart their skills and knowledge to others
have developed their own personal training style
have developed a systematic approach to training and job instruction
understand the factors affecting learning, how people learn and the
importance of good communication skills
