Psychotherapy in Wiltshire and Bath
My name is Jan Mojsa and I am a fully qualified psychotherapist and supervisor, registered with the UKCP. I also deliver training and personal development workshops that are open to all. As well as focusing on psychotherapy, you will find information on the website on meditation and spiritual well being. In addition to working as a psychotherapist, I am also an ordained Buddhist Chaplain, working in healthcare and I offer mindfulness meditation courses.
If you are looking for a practitioner, or have an interest in counselling and psychotherapy, you may have lots of questions. Who do you choose? What do the different psychotherapy and counselling titles and labels mean? There are many different types of psychotherapy, for example Integrative, Body Orientated, Transpersonal, Psychodynamic, Person Centred, Analytic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - the list goes on. Googling some of these labels is likely to give you an initial idea as to what might feel right for you. I personally work mainly within a transpersonal and contemplative approach.
Here, in my experience, are some frequently asked questions about psychotherapy....
How do I choose a psychotherapist?
Perhaps more important than the type of therapy you choose, is to choose a practitioner you feel you can work with. Because of this, I always offer an initial session (at no charge) where you can talk a little about yourself and your concerns. Together we can agree whether psychotherapy (with me) is right for you. If you decide it isn't, I can point you in the direction of other practitioners and services.
How long will it take?
It depends very much on what you want to achieve. Short term work is helpful in focusing on specific issues. For me, short term usually means 8 - 16 sessions. Longer term work enables us to work with more deep seated issues, patterns and concerns.
How much will it cost?
The fee for each session is £50. I also carry spaces at lower cost (usually £35) depending on your financial circumstance. I am happy to talk about this with you.
How often should I come?
Generally, the agreement is to come weekly at the same time. However, it may be right to work with a different rhythm, i.e. twice weekly or fortnightly.
Occasionally I can work using skype and also telephone.
